A Few of My Beliefs, Selflessness?
Selflessness I thought would be a good topic as most people I would think are not entirely sure what it would actually be like if we were completely selfless. First off selfishness, this is rather easy to describe and many people are familiar with when someone commits a selfish act. For those that arn't a selfish act is one in which someone will put there own conc

Religion Can Be Good?
There are many religions out there and I lack the knowledge to comment on the vast majority of them. I am a Catholic and was born into this religion, I don't believe in the bibles story but I do believe in a vast multitude of the bibles teachings. It seems to be the same in almost any religion they are based on writings from some unknown author. We think we know who wrote these things because of what we have been told.
I have met many people who have blind faith, one example was of someone who I met who said he was a Catholic and believed in all their teachings. His reasoning was that he will go to heaven if he follows the bibles teachings. He was extremely certain of his belief with no evidence whatsoever, he said he just knew. I am not saying this is wrong because he will no doubt live a good life and be a good person to those around him. But by limiting his view point he misses out on a lot of life's teachings and experiences. It can be a good thing for some people, the bible however is not the answer to all of life's questions and problems there isn't a religion out there that teaches life experience.
The best thing about religion though is the values that are taught which generally are accepted by everyone to be good. There are a lot of values taught in religion that everyone can agree on, just one example that many can agree upon is that killing is wrong. This is a truth we can pretty much all say without a doubt to be correct. It is these things we collectively agree on that everyone should know and be aware of. By becoming aware of these truths that everyone agrees upon it helps us create a more clear and concise theory about the meaning of life.

A Few of My Beleifs, is there a God?
Here are a few of my beliefs, is there a God?
In my mind yes there has to be, just to point out that a redundant thought pattern is when we start to theorise how the earth was created, the big bang theory comes to mind. We could go even further theorising how our galaxy was created and even further still if science allows. This still gets us no where, we could spend forever tracing events back in time until there is just a single particle that isn't accounted for. When we do reach that point it will be impossible to explain how that particle came to be. From this we can say that it is impossible to disprove that some entity or being (God) exists. Proving there is a God I feel is a more worthy endeavour and far more likely to be achieved than disproving the existence of God.
Also I believe there is a God or energy however you may want to view it because of how the world is and what is in this world. When you take a look at everything as a whole and how it all fits so perfectly together it really does make me think that there must have been conscious thought put into it.

Welcome!
If you have found this page I would greatly appreciate if you could at least read something and let me know your thoughts on whatever it is I have written. I have basically made this blog to get some ideas out there and hopefully receive some ideas as well. It is all about gaining some insight into how others perceive this world that we live in.
My theory on life is relatively simple in that most of my thoughts are fairly logical, I am sure someone will let me know if they are not. The idea is that we can gain a fairly good insight by collecting various opinions from people and then using these to come to our own conclusion. This is one idea we can use because it is known that many heads are better than one. Though we do have to be careful in that we only take in the views that a lot of people can collectively agree on. This takes a fair bit of the guess work out of it so there are not too many grey areas.
In the end though there is only so far we can help each other understand, although I feel this is a good starting point it still lacks the adaptability that some people may require.
